Hardware was easy to set up. However, no installation DVD or instructions of any kind were included in box. Website listed for instructions was outdated and non-existent. I contacted Canon tech support for installation instructions which were provided immediately. With instructions, drivers and hardware were successfully and rapidly installed. Printer performance is a bit slower than I expected but print quality is sharp.

We bought this printer after having a Canon MP610 that worked wonderfully for years. We use our printers for typical home print jobs and pictures and we do not print often. I am pretty disappointed with this purchase after having so much luck with our previous printer. My issues and why I wouldn't recommend this one:
- goes through ink fast and I believe it's because I'm comparing to the other printer and these cartridges are much smaller. It's a pain to have to keep purchasing cartridges.
- printer feed always seems to have some kind of issue, very touchy
- color photo results are ok, I've experienced much better results with other Canon printers
Overall I am not happy with this and since we do not print often I can't just go back and return.

So far so good. The printer was a little difficult to set up as to a lack of instruction in one place, but I got it done and so far we are happy with it. It prints well so we haven't had any trouble with it.
